1890's-2000's Golf's Fifty Greatest Signed Display. The National Basketball Association famously produced a lithograph on the occasion of the league's Golden Anniversary celebrating the fifty greatest players in its history, of which forty-nine were alive to perform autograph duties. It remains one of the most coveted articles of autographed basketball memorabilia that exists. Here we find the golf equivalent, the result of a laborious pursuit by our consignor. He managed to track down a "cut signature" for every man named to this elite brotherhood but three--the nearly impossible "Young Tom" Morris, Harold Hilton and Walter Travis (a photocopied autograph appears for the latter two)--creating a peerless display piece for the advanced golf collector.

Among the forty-nine: "Old Tom" Morris, Harry Vardon, James Braid, J.H. Taylor, Jim Barnes, Walter Hagen, Horton Smith, Bobby Jones, Craig Wood, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods. All autographs rate 9/10 or better, professionally matted and framed with an image of all "posing" at St. Andrews. Full dimensions 42x59". Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
