Description

1926 Lambert "Who's Who In Sport" Bobby Jones #2 SGC 40 VG 3. Bobby Jones is considered by most to be the finest golfer of his or any other era. The consummate professional, his greatest achievement was in 1930 when he accomplished the first "Grand Slam" of golf by winning The Open Championship, the U.S. Open Championship, the United States Men's Amateur Golf Championship and The (British) Amateur Championship. This real photo tobacco insert card is the "rookie" card of Jones, the "Babe Ruth" of his sport. Produced by Lambert & Butler in 1926, Jones would retire from competition just four years later. Graded SGC 40 VG 3, this example has sharp corners, respectable centering and good luster. A very faint crease accounts for the SGC assessment.
