Found within one of the more unknown and obscure 19th century tobacco promotions titled simply "Picture Cards" one finds what is to the best of our research the very first tobacco insert card to feature the sport of "Golf". Issued in 1893 by August Beck under the Yum Yum tobacco brand and utilizing very thin paper as a base, each N398 featured a line drawing of the advertised sport.
