2011 New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Championship Ring. They had met the New England Patriots just four years earlier, shocking the sporting world with a stunning, last-gasp underdog victory to deny the apparent inevitability of the first perfect NFL season since the Miami Dolphins ran the table in 1972. And, once again, Big Blue entered the biggest game of the American sports calendar a decided underdog, having won just nine regular season games before catching fire in the postseason.

The Giants nearly threw the game away in the final minute, as running back Ahmad Bradshaw realized too late that the Patriots were going to let him waltz into the end zone unimpeded to preserve the clock for a Tom Brady miracle when New York could have run the clock down to win the game with a last-second field goal. But the legendary Patriots quarterback was ultimately unable to find a connection to his game-ending Hail Mary, setting into motion the production of Championship rings like the one proudly presented here.

The ring was issued to a front office staffer who has insisted upon anonymity, so we will blur his surname in our online images. We stress, however, that this is an "A" model ring, identical to those earned between the white lines by Manning, Pierre-Paul and Umenyiora.

A mine's worth of diamonds and blue sapphires coat the face which features the team logo "NY" and four miniature Lombardi Trophies to represent the franchise tally. "New York Giants 2011 World Champions" stands in block lettering at the perimeter. Left shank reports the owner's surname, another team logo and the years of Championship glory. The years of glory are completed on the right shank beneath another team logo, the Lombardi Trophy in miniature, and the final score of the game. Interior band bears the text, "All In" and "Finish," as well as "T&C AU .585" stamping, indicating fourteen karat gold construction by famed jeweler Tiffany & Co.

Size is a massive fourteen and a half (14.5), weight ninety-six grams (96 g.). The ring presents in pristine condition in original wooden display case and cardboard Tiffany & Co. packaging. The very first example of this ring that Heritage has had the privilege to present.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
