Description

Mid-1980's Ray Nitschke Personal NFL Alumni Jacket. Few people meant more to the small community of Green Bay, Wisconsin than Ray Nitschke. Any player who gives 100 percent on the field, and to the community will always be highly respected in "Titletown," and for Ray, those leadership characteristics seemed to come naturally. From his days at the University of Illinois, throughout his pro football days with the Packers, and for all his contributions with the NFL alumni and in various charities, that was simply the way Nitschke always presented himself. Offered here is one one of two Ray Nitschke alumni jackets included in the Hall of Famer's personal collection, and included in Heritage's April Signature Auction. The "Haggar Imperial" blazer presents lighter tan fabric than the other example, while it also features all-original gold buttons and a laundering tag in the collar. A terrific, and rarely seen, shield patch is properly positioned above the left breast that reads "NFL Alumni Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinee." Solid, unblemished condition is exhibited on this piece, which is not his actual Hall of Fame induction jacket that he wore in 1978, but the next best thing. LOA from Rich Nitschke.
