Description

Early to Mid 1970's Willie Lanier Game Worn Kansas City Chiefs Jersey - With Multiple Team Repairs! After losing to the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl I, Chiefs head coach was forced to look for help at linebacker in the 1967 draft. Not only did the Hall of Fame coach find his much needed help, he ended up with one of the best players in professional football history. A six-time Pro Bowler, and two-time AFL All Star, Lanier was inducted into Canton's Pro Hall of Fame in 1986.

Offered here is an amazing red mesh jersey that was worn in the early to mid 1970's by the all-world Morgan State alum. One of the most beautiful gamers in our August Platinum Night catalog, this one presents screened-on numerals on the front, back and sleeves, while a terrific sewn-on nameplate remains on the back. In addition, the jersey is covered with team repairs, while the proper "Russell Southern size 54" tag is in the tail. As nice as it gets, it is a near perfect example representing the gridiron legend who has his No. 63 retired by the historic Chiefs franchise. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
