    Description

Early 1980's Dan Marino Game Worn University of Pittsburgh Panthers Jersey. One of only two college Dan Marino gamers we've handled, and certainly the most significant. Worn right around his 1981 college season, when he was the "National College Quarterback of the Year" runner up, this royal blue portal mesh is the correct and unique University of Pittsburgh hue of blue. Featuring the proper screened-on numerals on front and back, "MARINO" is screened directly on the fabric, which is correct for Pitt jerseys of this era . Exhibiting light wear throughout, the jersey's tail is cut, but still features a "Russell [size] L" tag in the tail and there is a small "Russell" tag in the collar. Sourced from renowned Pitt jersey collector Michael E. Silverman, this piece belongs in the College Football Hall of Fame, but fortunately for high-end game-used jersey collectors, it will end up in the hands of the lucky winning bidder. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Letter of provenance from Michael E. Silverman.
