Circa 1966 Fred Biletnikoff Game Worn Oakland Raiders Jersey. This first consensus All-American football player in Florida State University history was actually chosen in the third round of the NFL draft but opted instead for the Oakland Raiders of the AFL, beginning a relationship with the franchise which would survive until his retirement as the team's wide receiver coach in January 2007. The six-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl XI Champion first wore his famed number "25" during his sophomore AFL season, and the heavy durene utilized in this representation would suggest this is a very early career model. The design is elegant in its simplicity, with the unique number "25" (note the diamond-point "5") applied to chest, back and sleeves in black tackle twill, and "Biletnikoff" affixed to rear nameplate in 1.75" block lettering.

Strong wear is readily apparent throughout, particularly in the blood stains and numeric surface softness. Cut collar is team repaired, and crotchpiece has been removed by the team, as is typical of the vast majority of other period Raiders jerseys that have surfaced in the hobby. Tagging was lost to this surgery, but team inventory code "2855" remains in rear tail. A truly marvelous specimen from one of the great clutch receivers of his day. Consigned by the Raiders' equipment manager, with his letter of provenance. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Letter of provenance from Raiders equipment manager.
