    Description

Circa 1959-60 New York Giants Sideline Jacket Attributed to George Shaw. After being selected No. 1 overall in the 1955 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Colts, George Shaw quickly became the team's starting quarterback. But in the early part of the '56 season, he suffered a broken leg and was replaced by future gridiron legend Johnny Unitas. Shaw remained on the Colts' roster throughout the 1958 season, but in 1959 he was traded to the New York Giants.

Offered here is an original Giants sideline jacket attributed to George Shaw. Displaying an interlocking "NY" on the left chest, it has "Giants" sewn on the back, while the proper "Thorp Sporting Goods" and Galey & Lord are sewn in the right pocket. All seven buttons remain intact, while Shaw's No. 15 is sewn in the sleeve. The same style jacket that would have been worn by Giants head coach Jim Lee Howell and assistants Tom Landry and Vince Lombardi, this fine example exhibits nice game wear and remains undamaged. LOA from MEARS. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
