    Description

Circa 1940's Red Friesell Game Worn Referee's Shirt. Most remembered for an incorrect call he made in the 1940 Cornell-Dartmouth game, when he accidentally gave Cornell an extra down, enabling the Big Red to score a game-winning touchdown, Red Friesell was the lead official in several NFL games as well. Originally obtained by our consignor from well known Pennsylvania collector Michael Lopota, this white and black striped button down shirt was worn by Friesell around the 1940's. Exhibiting solid use throughout, it exhibits exemplary condition and has no manufacturer's tagging present. Letter of Provenance from Sports Immortals Museum.
