    Description

Circa 1939 Derace Moser Game Worn Texas A&M Helmet. Like the game worn jersey that precedes this lot, the presented helmet derives from the Texas A&M locker of Derace Moser, one of the school's greatest stars and most tragic figures, a casualty of the Second World War soon after his graduation. The gorgeous maroon and white leather helmet features a factory stamped "AMC" on verso (for "Agricultural & Mechanical College) with a winged front design apparent in all period photography of the Championship-era Aggies. Moser's number "42" is stenciled on the interior web suspension. Fine game wear is evident, though the helmet displays perfectly, with even the original canvas chin strap remaining present and fully intact. LOA from Lou Lampson.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
