2008 Tom Coughlin Game Worn New York Giants Super Bowl XLII Sweater Vest. In one of the most notable Cinderella coaching stories in NFL history, Tom Coughlin and his 2007 New York Giants started the season poorly with an 0-2 record, and as a result fans and sports writers were suggesting that the team should actually fire its head coach. However, the team rebounded and won six straight games. The Giants compiled a 7-1 record on the road, and they made it back to the playoffs for the third year in a row.

The Giants then went on to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in round one of the postseason, and then upset the Cowboys in round two, and then shocked the world by defeating the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship at historic Lambeau Field. New York continued its magical season, and with a little help from David Tyree's miracle one-handed catch toward the end of the fourth quarter in Super Bowl XLII, Coughlin's squad defeated the New England Patriots 17-14 at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Offered here is the sweater vest that coach Coughlin wore during Super Bowl XLII. Originally obtained from Giants equipment manager Joe Skiba, it features a gorgeously embroidered SB XLII patch on the bottom left. Presenting the proper "Reebok [size] L" screened-on tagging in the collar, with "T.C." in black felt-tip ink, it exhibits light wear throughout. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
