Matt Hasselback's rallying cry surely sent a surge of enthusiasm through the Seattle Seahawks roster and television-watching fanbase as he made his bold prediction after winning the overtime coin toss at Lambeau Field. He had battled the hosting Green Bay Packers to a 27-27 tie at the end of regulation, but there was to be no Joe Namath-style validation of his swaggering claim, as he'd toss a pick-six to suffer sudden death in the NFC Wild Card game on January 4, 2004.
This is the jersey his Hall of Fame opponent wore in that memorable postseason showdown, the garment definitively photo matched and personally inscribed by Brett Favre to validate that attribution. That final postseason victory of the Green Bay Packers' 2003 season was the second time The Gunslinger wore the offered green mesh jersey, the first time coming a week earlier as the Pack demolished the visiting Denver Broncos 31-3 to complete the regular season at 10-6. Again, professional photo matching documents this claim.
The jersey is one of the most recognizable of the past half-century, the classic green mesh body featuring yellow and white striping at collar and cuffs, with Favre's immortal number "4" applied in white tackle twill to chest, shoulders and back, where it rests beneath "Favre" in three-inch block. Interior collar reveals "03-52" swatch, while tail tagging has been lost to Favre's standard elasticized waist customization. Favre signs both front and back in 9/10 black sharpie with the same notation added: Game Used, 319 yds, 1 TD, Playoffs 1/4/04 Pack 33 Seahawks 27, OT Win." Fine game wear is evident, with a team repair at right shoulder.
