Description

1995 Cris Carter Game Worn Minnesota Vikings Jersey. After being drafted in the fourth round by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1987 NFL supplemental draft, head coach Buddy Ryan said "all Cris Carter does is catch touchdowns." That very well may have been the case, but nevertheless, in 1989 the Eagles let the Ohio State alum go due to off-the-field issues.

It's funny how things work out, especially in the world of sports. After his time in Philly, Carter was signed by the Minnesota Vikings and he drastically turned his life and career around. After putting together an NFL resume that includes eight straight Pro Bowl appearances, Bart Starr Man of the Year award, Walter Payton Man of the Year award and a permanent spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, it's safe to say Carter's story is one of the most inspirational in football history.

Offered here is Carter's purple home jersey from the 1995 season. Exhibiting minimal wear, the gorgeous mesh shirt displays the Vikings 35th anniversary patch near the left shoulder, while sewn-on white tackle twill numerals are on the front, back and sleeves. The proper "95", "Starter" and "[size] 36" tags are in the tail, while it presents Carter's typical customized sleeves. An absolute must for any serious collector of game-worn Hall of Famer jerseys. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
