Dickerson rushes for 215 yards to surpass O.J. Simpson!

1984 Eric Dickerson Single-Season Rushing Record Game Worn & Signed Los Angeles Rams Jersey - Photo Matched! He'd set the record for rushing yards as the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1983, seamlessly transitioning from the college game where he'd already earned national fame as the lead steed of SMU's "Pony Express." But few imagined that an even greater accomplishment awaited Dickerson in his encore, smashing O.J. Simpson's seemingly untouchable NFL single-season rushing record, a title which Dickerson retains to present day.

Needing 212 yards to squeeze past The Juice, with two games to cover that distance, the young superstar decided that a hometown crowd was deserving of the spectacle rather than the fans in San Francisco where the Rams would finish up their 1984 regular season. He'd carry twenty-seven times for 215 yards on December 9, 1984 against the visiting Houston Oilers to capture the crown with a full game to spare. He'd find paydirt twice during that record-breaking afternoon in Anaheim en route to an NFL-topping fourteen touchdown scampers for the year.

Presented is the blue mesh jersey that Eric Dickerson was wearing as he became the most prolific single-season rusher in the history of the National Football League, supported by the ironclad documentation of multiple matches to game photography from the experts at Resolution Photomatching.

Even without that monumental achievement on its resume, this would be one of the greatest Dickerson jerseys in the hobby, an early-career specimen bearing all the hallmarks that discerning game used jersey collectors desire. The scars of battle appear throughout, with an array of team repairs, particularly in the shoulder area. The residue of facemask rubber adds the occasional burst of color, most apparent on the name on back. Dickerson's custom v-neck alteration is a distinctive player trait.

Number "29" is screened to front and back, with those numbers applied in tackle twill to each sleeve within the curls of ram's horns. "Dickerson" stands in screened white block across nameplate. Lower left front tail reveals the twin "Sand-Knit" tagging of Rams exclusivity and size "48." Dickerson himself celebrates his singular achievement on the rear numerals, signing and notating, "New N.F.L Record, 2007 yds., 12-9-84, Los Angeles Rams 27, Houston Oilers 16." His black sharpie is 10/10. LOA from Resolution Photomatching. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
