    Description

1983 Eric Dickerson Game Worn & Signed Los Angeles Rams Rookie Jersey--Photo Matched! It was one of the greatest debut seasons ever supplied to the National Football League, establishing rookie records for for most rushing attempts (390), most rushing yards (1,808) and most rushing touchdowns (18). The awards came in a deluge at the close of the season--NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, NFL Offensive Player of the Year and a first of six career Pro Bowl appearances. Only an all-time NFL rushing yardage record the next year could distract from what would otherwise have been one of the biggest football stories of the 1980's.

This battle-scarred blue mesh gamer, replete with jagged team repairs, hit marks and a custom collar alteration, has been linked by the experts at Resolution Photomatching to the Rams' November 27, 1983 forty-one to seventeen victory over the Buffalo Bills at Anaheim Stadium, a contest that saw the former lead horse of SMU's Pony Express rumble for 125 yards and a touchdown in thirty-two attempts. Though it should be stated clearly this jersey has far more than one battle upon its resume.

Number "29" is screened to chest, back and shoulders in yellow, while "Dickerson" is similarly applied in white to rear nameplate in three-inch block. Lower left front tail holds dual "Medalist Sand-Knit" tagging denoting size "46" and Rams exclusivity. Rear numerals are inscribed in black marker, "To: Sports Immortals Museum, Eric Dickerson #29."
