    Tom Landry's short-yardage solution...

1977 Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl XII Championship Ring Presented to Running Back Doug Dennison.
The Doomsday Defense would live up to its name in this New Orleans Superdome showdown--the first NFL Championship ever contested indoors--as the Cowboys forced a record eight turnovers to stifle the American Conference Champion Denver Broncos in a twenty-seven to ten domination. This would be the second time the Lone Star flag was planted atop the NFL mountain, and this gleaming symbol of achievement recalls those glory days of Landry, Staubach and Dorsett as well as any in the hobby.
Identical in design and construction to the Harvey Martin example that commanded $71,700 in our February 2015 Platinum Night auction, this particular specimen was issued to running back Doug Dennison, a favorite of legendary head coach Tom Landry, who once explained, "Doug Dennison is the best guy I know to give a football to on the goal line or short yardage...If you want to make it, you give it to Doug. Dennison is going to give you everything he's got."

Twin stars on the ring face represent two tastes of gridiron glory to date, each sporting a genuine diamond nucleus and blue sapphire spokes and set against a field of smaller diamonds. "Dallas Cowboys World Champions" stands in raised lettering at the perimeter of the face. Left shank reports owner's name above a Cowboys helmet, while right shank features a Lombardi Trophy in miniature with text reading, "Super Bowl XII, 1977, 27-10." The white gold beauty is stamped "Jostens 10k" at interior band, which measures to a size eleven and a half (11.5). Weight is forty-two grams (42 g.). Light wear.
