Description
1975 Jimmy Johnson Game Worn San Francisco 49ers Jersey with Player Letter. Legendary cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers and brother of 1960 Olympic gold medalist Rafer Johnson, Jimmy Johnson enjoyed an outstanding NFL career from 1961 to 1976. Renowned for his exceptional coverage skills and leadership, the Santa Monica/UCLA alum was a key figure in the 49ers' defense who amassed a career total of forty-seven interceptions, a remarkable tally considering that most teams direct their passing plays away from great cornerbacks. Johnson earned five Pro Bowl berths, four All-Pro selections and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994.Here we present an essential jersey for any advanced collector of Hall of Fame gamers. Worn during the later part of his storied career, it exhibits moderate use, while the proper Wilson size 42 tag is in the tail. "37" is screened onto the front/back/sleeves in heavy white heat transfers, "J. Johnson" appears on a red knit nameplate, all sewn-on in white tackle twill. Accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from Johnson which confirms that he wore the jersey during the 1975 campaign. Letter of provenance from Jimmy Johnson. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
