1973 O.J. Simpson Game Worn Buffalo Bills Jersey from Record 2,000 Yard Season. We'll be the first to admit that Simpson's stock has never recovered from the effects of the criminal proceedings that captured the attention of the world in the mid-1990's. And while this could certainly be understood in the short term, we can't help but imagine how his sporting artifacts will be viewed decades from now when the "Trial of the Century" and its social implications are studied with the same sort of hindsight we can now apply to other watershed events in American popular culture. While we would certainly draw no corollary between corruption and murder, it's clear that Joe Jackson and the rest of the Black Sox are now highly-prized by collectors precisely for their crimes, whereas few would have crossed the street for a free autograph from them in the 1920's. For better or for worse, O.J. Simpson's legend will continue to grow with the passing of the years, and far less for what he did on the gridiron than what he may have done one night in Los Angeles.

And then there are the true sports purists out there who are able to separate the athlete from the man, who might not excuse Simpson for his purported crimes but choose to remember that fluid running style instead, that Hall of Fame talent. For those folks we offer today one of the most desirable Simpson jerseys ever made available for public sale, dating from the year that Joe DeLamielleure and the rest of "The Electric Company" sprung the Juice for the League's first-ever 2,000 yard rushing season. The blue mesh Buffalo Bills gamer shows fantastic wear from home games at the brand-new Rich Stadium, with a vast array of scuffs and stains particularly noticeable on the screened number "32" on chest, back and shoulders. "Simpson" is screened across shoulders. "Champion Products Inc. [size] L" tagging shows sweaty wear in tail.

It's been quite a fall from grace between the ovations O.J. would receive from a stadium of fans when he wore this jersey to the universal blackball he encounters from the sporting world today, but mark our words, O.J. Simpson will be the name every school kid knows fifty years from now. As such, this jersey would be as appropriate for the Smithsonian Museum as it would for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
