1971 John Mackey Game Worn, Signed Baltimore Colts Jersey - Most Likely Used in Super Bowl V. Known for his amazing speed and size, John Mackey will forever be remembered as one of the most prolific tight ends ever to play in the National Football League. An inductee to Canton's Hall of Fame class of 1992, the Syracuse alum was involved in a famous game-changing play in Super Bowl V where he caught a record-setting 75-yard pass from quarterback Johnny Unitas after the ball was deflected twice, once by fellow Colts player Eddie Hinton and once by opposing Dallas defensemen Mel Renfro. A thrilling championship contest, Baltimore won the won the game 16-13, following a 32-yard field goal by Jim O'Brien with five seconds left.

Heritage Auctions is proud to present the jersey that is most like the one Mackey wore in Super Bowl V. One of the most significant Colts jerseys ever to hit the auction block, it has been determined that it was first used by Mackey in the Big Game by the following evidence: the Colts used Durene jerseys all season, but due to the warm Miami weather conditions they would face in Miami at the Super Bowl, they made the switch to white mesh uniforms; images can be seen of Colts players wearing cotton nameplates with sewn-on lettering (loosely stitched on the versos); font style matches up to game images perfectly. In addition, the proper "Sand Aire [size] 48" tag in the tail. An absolutely amazing jersey representing a truly monumental event in Colts folklore. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
