1970 Ray Nitschke Game Worn, Signed Green Bay Packers Jersey. Fellow Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer Bart Starr once characterized this hard-nosed middle linebacker as the "classic example of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," a gentle giant off the field who conversely took great pleasure in doling out bone-crushing punishment to opposing ball carriers. This classic example of a late-career green Durene gamer from the 1978 Canton inductee convincingly illustrates Nitschke's rough brand of play, 13 very sizable team repairs and one large unrepaired hole, indicating hundreds of downs worth of collisions under the rule of Lombardi-successor Phil Bengston. Amid the constellation of battle scars we find the unforgettable double-sixes in white tackle twill sewn to chest, back and sleeves, these likewise showing brutal wear. Yellow and white sleeve striping recalls some of Nitschke's finest days in Titletown. Size "52" tag inside collar is joined by another in the tail, which is located on the proper "Sand Knit" label. Originally obtained from Nitschke's limousine driver approximately 30 years ago, and later signed in perfect black sharpie by the iconic linebacker, there is evidence on the back that its original nameplate was removed, as typical for Packers gamers. Nitschke is shown signing this Hall of Fame-caliber jersey in a provided image, which is also accompanied by additional authentication from the hobby's most respected Green Bay Packers jersey expert. LOA from Guy Hankel. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph). Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph). Note: This jersey is not part of the "Ray Nitschke Collection."
