    Description

1968 Larry Garron and 1969 Gino Cappelletti Game Worn Boston Patriots Jersey. Presented here is a superb heavy white knit jersey worn by two AFL All Stars of the Boston Patriots in the late 1960's. Worn by both fullback Larry Garron and receive/kicker Gino Cappelletti, it was originally a No. 40 shirt that was worn by Garron in 1968 until he suffered a career-ending injury (No. 4 still visible in multiple locations on the jersey). It now displays as a No. 20 jersey that was worn by Cappelletti in two games of the preseason in 1969.

The jersey shows remnants of the Garron nameplate that once was stitched on the back. There was never a Cappelletti nameplate on the back, as it was only used in the preseason with no name on back, while the Patriots switched to a different style jersey during the '69 regular season. The proper "Holovak & Coughlin" and Russell size 44 tagging in the tail, while the crotch piece remains intact. In addition, sewn-on identifiers are on the front, back and sleeves. Heavy wear with multiple repairs exhibited throughout. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
