1967 Jim Taylor Game Worn & Signed New Orleans Saints Jersey - With Team Letter! While the legendary Jim Brown will always get credit for being the premier running back of the 1960's, Jim Taylor will forever be remembered for out rushing Brown during the Green Bay Packers' historic 1962 championship season - the only season Brown did not lead the league in rushing during his career.A four-time NFL champion during Lombardi's 1960's dynasty, and a five-time Pro Bowler, the Pro Football Hall of Famer won the league's MVP during that special '62 season.
Presented here is an absolutely phenomenal white cotton jersey that he wore during his sole season in New Orleans, which also is noted as the team's inaugural year in the league. Accompanied by a letter from Jay Deming, the Saints promotions assistant, and signed on vintage team letterhead that is addressed to game-worn jersey pioneer Joel Platt, this Hall of Fame-caliber showpiece displays brilliantly unique sewn-on numerals on the front, back and sleeves.
Signed in black ink by Taylor on the front, the proper "Southland size 48" tagging is in the collar, while eight team repairs are scattered throughout. As if the repairs and wear weren't enough to turn the heads of advanced collectors, the jersey is completed by a spattering of blood spots on the front. One of the most important Saints jerseys ever offered, it will surely act as a centerpiece in any high-end NFL jersey collection. Letter of provenance from New Orleans Saints.
