1964 Sam Huff Game Worn Washington Redskins Jersey--Photo Matched! Born and raised in a West Virginia coal mining camp during the Great Depression, Huff was an All-American at West Virginia University before entering the NFL as the New York Giants' third selection in the 1956 draft. He'd earn his sole NFL Championship ring that rookie year, and play eight seasons in the Big Apple before being dealt to Big Blue's rival in our nation's capital in 1964, the season from which this battle-scarred white durene beauty derives.

With as many team repairs as stars in the nighttime sky, this Hall of Fame garment almost certainly saw multiple seasons of action, and unfortunately our photo match image provides no clues as to the year, or even the opponent. But the white threads edging into the red shoulder stripes on each side provide an unmistakable match, as well as tangible evidence of Huff's famously violent style of play.

The legendary linebacker's number "70" is applied in maroon tackle twill to chest, back and sleeves, which, along with part of the crotch piece, have been trimmed, causing the loss of manufacturer's tagging that was present in the latter. We do still find the embroidered "64" year swatch at interior left hip.

It has been over a quarter century since a Huff gamer crossed the hobby's major auction block, and this repair-spangled warrior is everything a linebacker fan could ever hope to find. A Canton-quality representation, to be sure. LOA from Resolution Photomatching. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
