    Description

1963 Charlie Hennigan Game Worn American Football League All Star Game Jersey. One of the biggest stars of the American Football League, Charlie Hennigan scored the first touchdown in Houston Oilers history, and became the first professional football player to catch more than 100 passes in a single season. An AFL All-Star in five straight seasons, the Louisiana native wore this vibrant white and blue Durene gamer during the 1963 AFL All-Star game. A highly popular style among serious collectors of the defunct league, this beautiful shirt has attractive white star decorated blue shoulders, with blue tackle twill numerals on the front, back and sleeves. The proper "Spanjian" and "Higgins & Crosthwaite" tags are in the tail, while the jersey remains in outstanding condition. AFL All-Star gamers rarely pop up at auction, and we can only guess at when another example from a player of this caliber will show up in the future. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
