1941 Sam Sharpe Game Worn Alabama Crimson Tide Jersey. A 1995 letter of provenance from the freshman football manager of the Tide in 1941 attributes this ancient gridiron relic to end Sam Sharpe. The jerseys were retired from the varsity team to the freshman squad at the end of the 1941 season, at which time this jersey was acquired by the owner. Heavy cotton garment has tackle twill number "8" on chest and back. Crotch piece is removed. Moth damage throughout and jersey appears to have shrunk to some degree. Letter of provenance from original owner. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
