    Description

Polo Grounds Game Ticket And Parking Stub from December 7, 1941. Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japanese forces at 12:55 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, December 7, 1941. There were three NFL games being played at the time and after the fateful moment an announcement inside New York's Polo Grounds was made, not honoring Tuffy Leemans, a star running back on what was "Tuffy Leemans' Day" but a call to duty for all servicemen in attendance to report to their units. The United States was officially forced into World War II. The same announcement was made at the other games played that day. Offered is an original Polo Grounds ticket stub and parking garage claim check from the Dec. 7, 1941 game between the New York Giants and the Brooklyn Dodgers. Both have creasing that would generate a low technical grade or Fair or poor but both present very nicely. A pair of scarce collectibles from one of the pivotal moments of the 20th Century.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
