1946 NFL Championship Game Bears Vs. Giants Full Ticket PSA Authentic. The day before the 1946 NFL Championship Game, Giants players Frank Filchock and Merle Hapes had been accused of taking bribes to fix the game from infamous New York gambler Alvin Paris. Hours later, the players were interviewed one at a time by Mayor William O'Dwyer. Under questioning, Hapes admitted that he was offered a bribe and Filchock denied being offered it. Several hours later, Paris was arrested and confessed to bribing the players. Hapes was suspended, but Filchock was allowed to play. During Paris' trial weeks later, Filchock admitted taking the bribe under oath. Offered here is an unused ticket from the historic '46 championship game. One of only two graded by the experts at PSA, the eye appealing example is slabbed "Authentic," while numerous creases and tape remnants are exhibited.
