    Description

1937 Vince Lombardi Signed Fordham Yearbook and Commencement Program. Anyone who ever questioned Vince Lombardi's heart would have to look no further than to his days as offensive lineman at Fordham University to be convinced. Standing at only 5 foot 8 inches, and weighing a meager 185 pounds, despite his limited size Lombardi was still considered one of the superior players in the country, and was part of Fordham's legendary "Seven Blocks of Granite." We are proud to offer, what is unquestionably one of the earliest Vince Lombardi signatures ever to surface, presented in 9/10 fountain pen ink on this original 1937 Fordham annual. Signed beside his distinguished senior photograph, the bold exemplar stands out perfectly, and is accompanied with signatures from his fellow "Blocks of Granite," Leo Paquin and Natty Pierce, who have used the same caliber dark ink. Also a fellow classmate of Lombardi, the legendary Wellington Mara is pictured, but unfortunately he did not sign this gridiron rarity. Book exhibits superior displayability with moderate wear, and is also accompanied with Fordham's 92nd Annual Commencement program, which lists all the graduating seniors, including the Green Bay Packers icon. For the Lombardi hobbyist who thought he had everything, this piece is sure to stand out in even the most superior of collections. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
