    Description

1922 John Heisman Signed "Principles of Football" Hardcover Book. Born and raised in the fertile football fields of Ohio and Pennsylvania, John Heisman would come to prominence as a center and tackle for both Brown University and the University of Pennsylvania during the late 19th century when the Ivy League represented the pinnacle of the sport. As his playing days ended, Heisman would begin a three and a half decade career as one of the game's top collegiate coaches, retiring in 1926 to help found the New York Downtown Athletic Club. He would be named its first director in 1930.

Presented here is one of the only examples of Principles of Football signed by the gridiron pioneer ever offered in the hobby. Exquisitely signed in Mint black ink, the book itself rates a solid EX+ quality. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from SGC.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
