Description

1967 Super Bowl I Packers vs. Chiefs Program, CGC 8.5. Super Bowl I, played on January 15, 1967, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, was the first championship game between the NFL and AFL, marking the beginning of what would become the biggest sporting event in America. The game featured the Green Bay Packers, champions of the NFL, against the Kansas City Chiefs, champions of the AFL. After a competitive first half, Vince Lombardi's Packers dominated the second, winning 35-10, led by quarterback Bart Starr and receivers Max McGee and Boyd Dowler. Though the event was not yet the spectacle it would later become-played in front of many empty seats and broadcast simultaneously on two networks-it laid the foundation for the Super Bowl's rise as a cultural and sporting phenomenon.

While the Super Bowl is a national holiday now, there was a time when it was sparsely attended. Super Bowl I had plenty of empty seats as the Green Bay Packers made the NFL proud by beating Kansas City. This program has been graded CGC 8.5 with white pages. Graded CGC 8.5.
