Description
1963 Pro Football Hall of Fame Multi Signed Inaugural Enshrinement Program, With Lambeau, Nagurski, Etc. - Graded PSA NM-MT 8. On September 7, 1963, in the small but historic football town of Canton, Ohio, the doors of the Pro Football Hall of Fame were opened and from that point on the uniquely-designed building has become known as the Mecca of all superior professional gridiron athletes. And it was on that monumental day that 17 charter enshrinees were honored, and this amazing catalog listing represents that special group of Pro Football Hall of Famers (signed by 8 of the 17 charter members). As all serious collectors and sports memorabilia investors recognize, firsts and extreme rarity equal hobby greatness, and this original 1963 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction program showcases these significant characteristics.
Exhibiting EX quality through the completely intact pages, the following signatures are presented: cover is signed by Elmer Layden (member of the College HOF), Dante Lavelli (inducted into Canton in 1975) and Mrs. Pete Henry (wife of Fats Henry who passed away in 1952, and was inducted into Canton's inaugural enshrinement); the interior pages include the following signatures: Curly Lambeau (8/10 blue ball-point ink, with the lightest smudge at the "A" and "M"), Ernie Nevers (9/10), Cal Hubbard (10/10, only man in Pro Football and Cooperstown's Baseball Hall of Fame), Bronko Nagurski (9/10), Mel Hein (10/10), Dutch Clark (10/10), Don Hutson (10/10 pencil) and Sammy Baugh (9/10). Simply stated, this is one of the true Holy Grails of professional football memorabilia. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, graded NM-MT 8. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
