Description

1943 Bruce Smith Signed Program. Unquestionably, serious Heisman Trophy signature collectors will agree that aside from the elusive Nile Kinnick, Bruce Smith is by far the toughest signature to obtain from the category of prestigious collegiate football award winners. A true hero on and off the field, Smith served during World War II as a United States fighter pilot, and also spent time with select groups of military All-Star squads while in the service. Presented here is an original program from the 1943 contest between Smith's Saint Mary's Pre-Flight squad and the University of California. One of the nicest Bruce Smith signatures we have ever handled, it is displayed inside the VG program in 10/10 black felt-tip ink, while his teammates also joined him by adding signatures of similar quality. Also included are three additional programs, featuring military and colligate teams of the 1940's (VG quality exhibited). A superb and rarely seen exemplar from the 1941 Heisman winner. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
