    Description

Early 1950's Jim Thorpe Signed Original Photograph. There's no conversation from any intelligent sports fan that would not at least mention the legendary Jim Thorpe's name when discussing the best athlete in history. Offered here is a terrific original image measuring at 8x10" in size that pictures an aging, leather-helmeted Thorpe kicking a football held by fellow Hall of Famer Ernie Nevers. Grease pencil inscription in an unknown hand reads, "Jim Thorpe kicking off for the 49ers. Ernie Nevers holding. San Frisco, Calif." Black ink inscription on verso rates 8/10, and reads, "Property of Jim Thorpe." Stamping on verso attributes shot to "The San Francisco Examiner." Photo has rough edges, particularly at the top, but image area and autograph on verso are unaffected. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
