    Description

Circa 1924 Four Horsemen of Notre Dame Signed Photograph. Dubbed "The Four Horsemen" by Grantland Rice, these athletes comprised the backfield for Notre Dame from 1922-24. In this three-year term, the team lost only two total games, thanks largely to the efforts of these four. Fullback Elmer Layden signed a pleasing 7/10 boldness, with halfback Jim Crowley's autograph rating a 5/10 due to slight smearing. Don Miller, the team's other halfback, added a later signature in blue ballpoint that scores a 7/10, and quarterback Henry Stuhldreher signed a bold 9/10 on this blank-backed 8x10" photograph of the foursome wearing leather bomber jackets. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
