    Description

Circa 1920s Red Grange Service Photograph with University of Illinois Ephemera, Lot of 3. With a running style that likened him to a whirling dervish, football legend Red Grange earned the name of the "Galloping Ghost." Superb 8x10" service photo dating from circa 1920 depicts the valiant runner as he poses with his beloved pigskin. A few abrasions along the left edge plague the print, but they just barely encroach into the image area. Photo reverse has service company stamping and editor's markings. Also here is a vintage 2" University of Illinois pinback and a 2x2.5" leather card from the same school.
