    Description

1936 Green Bay Packers Original Oversized Team Photograph Presented to Ade Schwammel. Unless you are sifting through the impressive confines of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame at historic Lambeau Field or the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, chances are you will never see a similar piece to the example offered in this highly significant catalog listing.

After Redskins' owner George Preston Marshall previously announced plans to move his team to Washington D.C., the Packers traveled to the Polo Grounds in New York City to take on the Boston Redskins in the 1936 NFL title game. The historic contest was the Packers' first NFL Championship game played by the team under head coach Curly Lambeau, after winning league championships awarded by league standings in 1929, 1930 and 1931. A first quarter 48-yard touchdown pass from Arnie Herber to Don Hutson set the tone for an impressive 21-6 win by the "Green and Gold" on that momentous day, and offered here is an amazing oversized original team photograph that was presented to team member Ade Schwammel for his contributions during the memorable season.

The first of its kind that we've ever seen, the image itself measures at 15x19.5", and it is framed and matted at 21x25.5", while minimal wear is exhibited throughout. Letter of provenance from Ade Schwammel's son.
