    Description

1920's Knute Rockne Signed Original News Photograph. The first major sports figure (followed by Rocky Marciano, Roberto Clemente and Thurman Munson) to perish in an airplane accident, Rockne presents a particular challenge to autograph collectors due to his sudden, untimely death in 1931. Here we present an especially desirable example of his tough signature that is displayed superbly on an original South Bend, Indiana press photograph.

Signed "Sincerely Knute K. Rockne" in large black ink letters, the 7x11" image displays considerable creasing, tack holes at the edges and multiple tape repairs on the verso. Condition issues aside, it will still surely rate as one of the top examples we've handled. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from SGC Authentic.
