Description

1907 Germany Schultz Studio Portrait. Germany Schultz was one of early football's most dominant and influential players, best known for his time at the University of Michigan in the early 1900s. Playing primarily at center, he was a powerful and innovative force who helped redefine the position with his aggressive, physical style. Schultz is often credited with pioneering modern defensive play by introducing the concept of the linebacker, stepping back from the line to stop runs. His strength, toughness, and tactical impact made him one of the first great stars of American college football.

Offered is a 1907 studio portrait photograph (4x5.75") of the Hall of Famer. Markings and some toning exhibited.
