Description

Mid 1930's Bruce Smith Handwritten and Signed Schoolwork, With Sketches. Despite being know for his gridiron talents on the football field, University of Minnesota alum Bruce Smith showed another skill on the back of this handwritten and signed history paper. Presented on the 1941 Heisman Trophy winner's essay about Admiral George Dewey (circa mid-1930's), Smith filled the verso of this 7.25x10.5" paper with charming doodles and cartoons. Vintage football memorabilia collectors recognize Smith's signature as probably the toughest of all Heisman Trophy winners, and a hand-written, signed document from the halfback who also spent time on the Green Bay Packers is almost unheard of. This piece presents a solid signature in the upper right corner (7/10 pencil), with the remaining writing in solid pencil of the same quality. Paper has been folded into four sections, with a 1.5" triangle cut out of the bottom left quadrant, which does nothing to take away from this fine treasure. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
