Description

The long-suffering Bucs franchise finally wins it all!

2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl XXXVII Championship Ring (Fullback Darian Barnes). The first two decades of existence for this 1976 expansion franchise were historically awful, all but two ending below the .500 mark, but the tide began to turn in the late 1990's until newly-hired head coach Jon Gruden led the Bucs, in their twenty-seventh season, all the way to Super Bowl glory. Here we find Tampa Bay's first taste of pirate treasure, the championship ring issued to rookie fullback Darian Barnes, who appeared in six games in 2002.

The top of the ring mesmerizes with a figural Lombardi Trophy studded with a large marquis diamond inside the football and three rectangular modified brilliant diamonds in the base. The trophy sits atop a football which is studded with fifty sparkling round diamonds set in white gold, surrounded by four additional diamonds, and the text "Tampa Bay Buccaneers World Champions."

The left side features the text "Tampa Bay 48, Oakland 21. Super Bowl XXXVII, San Diego, California. January 26, 2003" along with the NFL shield. The right side displays Barnes' surname and "2002," along with the Buccaneers' logo, pirate ship, and palm tree.

The interior band is stamped "Tiffany & Co. 585" [14k] and engraved "Darian Barnes." The ring measures to a size eleven (11) and weighs fifty-two grams (52 g.). Moderate wear evident. No box.
