    Description

With letter of provenance from Youngblood himself!

2001 Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction Ring Presented to Jack Youngblood. He was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the 1971 NFL draft, wearing the golden horns for all fourteen of his professional seasons. A paragon of durability, Youngblood retired following the 1984 season with a vast array of franchise records including consecutive games (201), most playoff starts (17) and most playoff sacks (8 1/2). Further honors include seven Pro Bowl appearances and a pair of awards as the NFC's Defensive Player of the Year.

Today, Youngblood continues to serve the game he loves as founder and CEO of the Jack Youngblood Center for Neuroenhancement in Orlando, Florida, battling the plague of traumatic brain injury that has claimed so many of his contemporaries. We suspect that it is his noble commitment to philanthropy that compelled Youngblood to part with the ultimate symbol of his gridiron immortality which we proudly present here.

This is the ring issued to Youngblood upon his 2001 Canton induction as part of a seven-man class that included Nick Buoniconti and Lynn Swann. A genuine diamond is set into a blue stone on the ring's face, which is encircled by raised text reporting, "Pro Football Hall of Fame." Left shank reports "Defensive End" in raised text above imagery of the museum's facade, while right shank features imagery of game action framed between engraved text reading, "Jack Youngblood" and "Elected 2001." Interior band is stamped "Bal 14K" and measures to a size sixteen (16). Weight is forty grams (40 g.). Proud wear evident, with small crack to blue stone, but ring presents beautifully. Letter of provenance from Jack Youngblood. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (letter of provenance).
