1996 Green Bay Packers Super Bowl XXXI Championship Ring Presented to Linebacker Lamont Hollinquest. The Packers dominated the first two editions of the Super Bowl--a continuation of an era of NFL dynasty that had seen the Pack end nine seasons in the league's throne--but three decades had passed since the Lombardi Trophy had returned to its ancestral home. As NFL MVP Brett Favre led the green and gold onto the astroturf of New Orleans' Superdome, the Vegas line was Green Bay by fourteen.

The prediction proved prophetic, as the fourth quarter concluded with a thirty-five to twenty-one victory over the New England Patriots, supplying gamblers with an unsatisfying push and the Gunslinger with his sole Championship ring.

We couldn't imagine any scenario in which Favre would part with that elite hardware, but the offered lot will serve as a welcome fall-back plan for the Cheeseheads in our bidding clientele, a ring issued to an unsung hero of that glorious season. Hollingquest has been widely credited by his teammates as a vocal leader of the defense and special teams, and his key block that sprung Desmond Howard for a ninety-nine-yard kickoff return touchdown in the Super Bowl was the dagger in the Patriot heart, completing the day's scoring.

More than one hundred genuine diamonds spangle the ring face, sporting a logo "G" and the words, "World Champions." Left shank bears bold block lettering announcing, "Packers 1996 Tradition," while right shank features helmet and football imagery amidst the recipient's surname, jersey number and the team's record inclusive of the postseason. Interior band is stamped "10K" beside a Josten's logo. Weight is forty-nine grams (49 g.). Ring has been resized to eleven (11). Fine condition in rare original wooden display case. Note that a Super Bowl ring issued to Hollingquest's wife likewise appears in this auction.
