    The 'boys go back-to-back!

1993 Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl XXVIII Championship Ring Presented to Tight Ends Coach Robert Ford. It was the first time in the history of football's greatest event that the contenders for the Championship were identical to the previous edition. The Buffalo Bills were anxious to avenge their loss in Super Bowl XXVII, and they appeared to be well on their way, leading the Cowboys by a score of thirteen to seven as the Judds and a cast of fellow country music stars took the stage at halftime.

But Dallas roared back to life in the second half, stifling Jim Kelly's high-powered offense while scoring twenty-four unanswered points of their own, closing out their second consecutive Super Bowl Championship with a decisive thirty to thirteen final score. The Cowboys would go on to win a third Championship two years later, establishing this 1990's Dallas dynasty as one of the greatest in the history of the sport.

Here we present the primary symbol of that second trip to the mountain top, a dazzling Championship ring issued to highly-respected tight end coach Robert Ford. Four large diamonds on the face represent the franchise's Super Bowl Championships to date, with still more diamonds enhancing the design at the perimeter. All stones test as genuine. "Dallas Cowboys" stands at the edges of the face in raised text.

Left shank pictures the logo of Super Bowl XXVIII, a pair of Lombardi Trophies, and the words, "World Champions, Back to Back." Right shank features a miniature Cowboys Stadium, the NFL logo, and the identity of the former owner: "Ford, Coach." Interior band is stamped, "LGB 10K" and measures to a size 10.75. Weight is fifty-six grams (56 g.). Condition is near pristine, and the ring remains housed in its custom hinged wooden display box. Letter of provenance from Robert Ford.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
