    A new dynasty begins!

1992 Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl XXVII Championship Ring Presented to Linebacker Dixon Edwards. Blame it on O.J. Simpson. The Juice, who would find himself once again the center of Los Angeles' attention eighteen months later, tossed the coin at the Rose Bowl to launch the twenty-seventh edition of the Super Bowl, hopeful that his presence would help turn the tide for his old team. The Buffalo Bills had fallen in each of the previous two Super Bowls--in heartbreaking fashion against the Giants, and in a Redskins romp. Surely the third time would be the charm.

But the team that stood opposite the three-time AFC Champs as Simpson launched the coin skyward was about to prove itself to be one of the great dynasties of the Super Bowl era, bound for three Championships in a four-season span. By the time Michael Jackson took the halftime stage, Aikman and Emmitt had already rocketed to an eighteen-point lead. Dallas would continue its dominance in the second half, cruising to the second-most lopsided victory in the history of the sport's grandest event.

This is the ring issued to linebacker Dixon Edwards for his contributions to the Cowboys' third Super Bowl Championship in franchise history, and their first in a decade and a half. The ring face swims with genuine diamonds, applied in the shape of a football with the team's Lone Star logo at center. "Dallas Cowboys" stands in raised lettering at each side. Left shank holds an enameled logo of Super Bowl XXVII framed by raised text reporting "World Champions 1992" and the game's final score: "52-17." Right shank is dominated by an enameled NFL logo and boasts the team's impressive "16-3" record (inclusive of postseason play) and Edwards' surname, position and jersey number.

Interior band is stamped "LGB 10K" and measures to a size eleven and a half (11.5). Weight is forty grams (40 g.). The ring presents exhibits only minimal wear and is presented in its original hinged wooden presentation box. This is one of two Edwards Super Bowl rings on offer within this Platinum Night auction.
