1981 Ray Nitschke "Red Smith Sports Award" Trophy. As the trophy reads: For an outstanding contribution to the people of Wisconsin in the field of professional football, public relations, community relations and the many hours donated to charitable organizations to a great man who was always willing to give a helping hand to his fellowmen.Here we present Ray Nitschke's 1981 Red Smith Sports Award from the notable Wisconsin banquet. Standing at 9" in height, the trophy was originally obtained from the Nitschke family, and it exhibits moderate wear throughout. A superb personal artifact from one of the great leaders of coach Vince Lombardi's Packers of the 1960's.
