Description
1967 Green Bay Packers Super Bowl I Championship Gold Cuff Links. While Vince Lombardi is widely revered for his superior coaching prowess and innovative nature, which helped propel his Green Bay Packers to six world championships in the 1960's, it can not be overstated that one of his greatest qualities was his extreme generosity with the people closest to him.Presented here is a masterful set of 10 karat gold cuff links that were given to a member of the Packers board of directors by Lombardi after Super Bowl I.
Packer-green emeralds are set inside a clever design incorporating the shapes of both a football and a globe, encircled by raised text announcing, "1966 World Champions Green Bay Packers." The circular portion of each cufflink is stamped on verso with the Josten's logo and a "10K" gold content, the result of two ring faces having been fashioned into tasteful sleeve adornments (original clips have been replaced). A true hobby rarity, these are only the second such pair to hit the auction block, with the first selling for more than $11,000.
