1963 Ernie Davis Signed Cleveland Browns Payroll Check - Signed Just Two Months Before His Tragic Death. This Cleveland Browns payroll check was issued to and signed by the 1961 Heisman Trophy winner just two months before his tragic death. Dated March 5, 1963 and payable to "Ernest R. Davis" in the amount of $420, it is endorsed by the famed Syracuse halfback on the back in 9/10 blue ballpoint ink.
