Description
1960's Pottsville Maroons 1925 Championship Reunion Ring. Do you know what team was NFL Champion in 1925? It depends on who you ask. Officially, the Chicago Cardinals were awarded the league's highest honor after then-league president Joe Carr suspended the Pottsville Maroons for playing an unauthorized exhibition game against a non-NFL team in Philadelphia. However, many gridiron traditionalists consider the Maroons as league champions, as they tallied the best record during the 1925 season, and even beat the Cardinals in December of that same year. Offered here is a "championship" ring that was presented to a Pottsville player during a team reunion in the 1960's, which commemorated the team's memorable and controversial 1925 season. The [size] 11.5 ring presents a sterling silver band, with a large synthetic ruby at center. "World Championship 1925" borders the stunning stone, with "Pottsville Maroons" on the side shank. A fabulous piece of pro football history, this ring exhibits Mint condition.Auction Info
