1960-61 Los Angeles Rams Oversized Promotional Nodder (14" tall). Check our Permanent Auction Archives for the rare few other examples of this six-decade old promotional format nodder and you'll see that "Make Offer to Owner" entreaties for football models have risen as high as $35,000, the most ironclad evidence possible that these giant bobbleheads represent the pinnacle of desirability among those collectors with a concentration in the field. The record-holder is a New York Yankees specimen that sold for $90,000 in October 2019.

The offered example is the very first clad we have encountered clad in the blue and gold colors of the Los Angeles Rams, the reigning NFL champions at the time of this sale, though they were near the bottom of the standings during the years this big little guy was displayed at retail stores.

Like most of the examples from the tiny population of surviving fourteen-inchers, this model reveals a few hairline cracks upon close inspection and some rubbing of the paint with minor chipping at the neck. Tough "NFL" logo sticker remains affixed to left foot, a welcome surprise. Small dent appears between the "L" and "A" on the chest, but our catalog imagery should demonstrate that any faults appear minor from a reasonable viewing distance and must be forgiving in the context of the relic's supreme scarcity.
